Job summary

NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York City is seeking a Surgical Technologist to scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician under the direction of a licensed professional nurse.

This evening position requires BLS, NBSTSA-certified CST program graduate, and provides opportunities to contribute to patient care while upholding safety standards; prior OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; BLS required.
• Graduate of NBSTSA-accredited Surgical Technologist program; certification required on hire.
• Preferred: 1–2 years as CST in a large OR; NYU Surgical Tech Program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Scrub on all surgical procedures in the Operating Room and assist the physician under RN supervision.
• Assist on procedures as a secondary circulator and prepare supplies and equipment.
• Report unexpected events to RN staff and leadership in a timely manner.
• Provide on-call coverage where applicable and participate in ensuring aseptic technique.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and adherence to safety standards.
