Job summary

UMass Memorial Health Marlborough seeks a Surgical Technologist to manage instruments, supplies and equipment during procedures, ensuring sterile field maintenance and readiness throughout the operation.

Requirements include BLS and Surgical Technologist certification; a graduate of an approved program and preferably 3 years of hospital-based surgical experience. Compensation includes potential sign-on bonuses and a strong care-team culture.

Qualifications

• BLS Certification Required
• Surgical Technologist certification required
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist program
• 3 years experience in a hospital-based surgical service preferred
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service and communication skills required
• OR equivalent combination of the above qualifications may be considered

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure, such as scrubs, gowns and gloves
• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment and medications/solutions needed for surgery
• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before incision is closed
