Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Massachusetts seeks a Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams across cases, preparing carts, sterile supplies, and instruments while maintaining patient safety.

You will assist surgeons, ensure accurate counts, and respond to evolving needs during procedures. Requires completion of an accredited surgical technology program and current BLS; AST certification preferred.

Signing bonus may be available; final offer based on hours, schedule and internal equity.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of a specialized and technical field of Surgical Technology.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification every two years.
• Surgical technologist credential by a recognized certifying body.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates independent functioning and proficiency in the scrub role for assigned cases.
• Prepares the Operating Room; checks case carts and instrument pans.
• Anticipates needs for equipment and supplies; sets up back table and Mayo tray.
• Assists the surgical team; monitors instruments and specimens for proper identification.
• Maintains sterile technique and adheres to counts and safety policies.
