Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect care, assisting surgeons and serving as a resource to other technologists. This role includes mentoring and training students or staff as needed and participating in intraoperative and post-procedure turnover.

The ideal candidate will hold an Associate’s degree or a certificate in Surgical Technology, with BLS certification within 30 days. New grads are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• BLS within 30 days – American Heart Association.
• Associate’s degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• Accepts New Grads.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures that’s timely, accurate and efficient.
• Instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and is scrubbed prior to patient entering the room.
• Set up case so that another can step into an organized back table and mayo.
• Has appropriate “have available” items.
• Uses resources wisely, avoids unnecessary opening.
