Job summary

International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. seeks a Surgical Technician (Scrub Tech) to prepare the operating room, ensure instrument readiness, and assist the surgical team, focusing on patient safety and sterile technique.

Requirements include NBSTSA CST certification, BLS, 3–5 years of recent surgical tech experience, EMR and Microsoft Office proficiency, and readiness to relocate to Iraq.

Qualifications

• The CST certification is preferred and NBSTSA-validated.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• 3–5 years of recent surgical technician experience, including recent year.
• Proficiency with EMR systems and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by assembling surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Assist in positioning patients and ensure their safety during procedures.
• Maintain a sterile field and comply with infection control standards.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and surgical team during operations.
• Monitor patient condition and alert team of changes during procedures.
• Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment per protocols.
• Assist with post-operative care and patient transfer to recovery.
• Document procedures and maintain accurate supply records.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment per rules and regulations.
• Participate in Mass Casualty exercises and client-required trainings.
