Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for the Round Rock location. The role involves assisting the surgical team, preparing sterile instruments, and maintaining accurate counts during procedures.

Work is scheduled for nights and part-time coverage, with emphasis on patient safety and aseptic technique. Ideal candidates have a CAAHEP-accredited ST program and NBSTSA CST certification, with BLS compliance.

Qualifications

• Education: accredited surgical technologist program; certification required.
• Experience: less than 1 year preferred.
• Certification: CST preferred or eligible; BLS within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical team with instrument setup and safety checks.
• Scrub into surgery and pass sterile supplies to surgeons.
• Maintain sterile field and assist with draping and positioning.
• Perform counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments per policy.
• Clean and decontaminate instruments and prep room after cases.
• Follow infection control and regulatory guidelines to ensure safety.
