Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Round Rock, TX is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to assist the surgical team during procedures under RN supervision.

You will prepare the operative field, set up instrument tables, perform counts, assist with draping and positioning, and ensure sterility and instrument functionality throughout the case.

This role offers night shifts, part-time options, and integration into a supportive team focused on safe patient care and efficient operating room workflow.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Less than 1 year of experience in surgical technology.
• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) with NBSTSA/NCCT preferred; GAP acceptable if needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the instrument table in an organized way.
• Assist with draping and positioning the patient.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment.
• Receive specimens and ensure sterile transfer to the circulating nurse.
• Maintain inventory and proper disposal of sharps and waste.
