Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 for the Operating Room in Round Rock. This PRN Days position supports the surgical team and ensures instrument readiness and sterile technique throughout procedures.

The role requires completing an accredited surgical technology program and BLS certification, with CST certification preferred, and strong teamwork in a fast-paced OR environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Less than 1 year of experience in a surgical setting.
• BLS certification required; CST certification preferred.
• Ability to maintain sterility and follow OR protocols.

Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon and scrub in on time.
• Prepare and maintain instrument tables and sets.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and equipment during procedures.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and handling specimens.
