Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon before surgery.
• Prepare operative site and aseptically clean patient.
• Set up the operating room and instrument table.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, instruments.
• Assist with draping and positioning the patient.
• Ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of instruments.
