Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist 2 to assist the surgical team during procedures under RN supervision. You will prepare instruments, maintain sterility, and help ensure an efficient operating room.

Responsibilities include scrubbing in, setting up the OR, performing instrument counts, and supporting the team with supplies and specimens. Compliance with infection control and regulatory standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Grad of an Accredited Program.
• Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience.

Responsibilities

• Discuss special needs with the surgeon before surgery.
• Scrub into surgery and prepare instruments beforehand.
• Prepare and maintain the instrument table.
• Identify damaged or incomplete trays and rectify discrepancies.
• Set up the OR based on procedure schedules and ensure sterile setup.
• Ensure proper functioning of instruments and supplies during procedures.
• Perform surgical counts of sponges, sharps, and instruments.
• Assist with draping, positioning, and passing supplies to surgeons.
• Receive surgical specimens and handle them per protocol.
• Dispose of waste and decontaminate instruments after each case.
• Clean the OR after each case and maintain storage areas.
• Follow infection control policies and OSHA guidelines.
