Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification must be obtained within 6 months unless not required by department lead.

Responsibilities

• Performs preparatory, scrubbing and related services in the operating room.
• Assists with surgical cases in all specialty areas.
• Maintains a clean, safe and efficient operating room environment.
• Utilizes aseptic techniques for materials, supplies and equipment.
• Performs various procedures and maintains knowledge of multiple procedures.
• Ensures environmental disinfection and safety of the OR.
• Functions as Second Assistant as needed.
• Notifies staff of equipment/supply problems.
• Transports patients and equipment as required.
• Maintains specialty cart/equipment with complete and working condition.
