Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join our operating room team. You will prepare the surgical area, maintain a sterile field, and pass instruments to the surgical team during procedures.

This role requires excellent attention to detail and strong teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The position requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within six months, with no prior experience required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• No experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months unless a department leader determines it is not required.
• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques used in preparing materials, supplies and equipment for various procedures.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up the operating room for procedures and maintain a sterile field.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies as needed.
• Transport patients and equipment safely within the perioperative environment.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness and readiness; report any sterility issues.
