Job summary

Aurora Health Care Metro, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician to prepare and maintain the operating room for procedures, assist surgeons, and support patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include aseptic setup, instrument handling, room setup, equipment management, and assisting as Second Assistant when needed. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within 6 months are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) certification within 6 months if required by department.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile field and assist surgeons with aseptic technique during procedures.
• Perform duties across a range of procedures and maintain basic procedural knowledge.
• Ensure OR cleanliness, safety, and efficient equipment use in each case.
• Serve as Second Assistant as needed and communicate equipment needs to staff.
• Notify staff of equipment or supply problems to prevent delays.
• Transport patients, supplies and equipment as required.
• Maintain specialty carts and verify equipment sterility and condition.
• Assist in patient positioning and safe handling of lifting tasks.
