Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support operating room teams in a fast-paced hospital environment. The role requires maintaining sterile technique, assisting surgeons, and ensuring all instruments and supplies are ready for procedures.

Ideal candidates will have completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, typically 2 years of experience, and BLS certification within 6 months if not already obtained.

Qualifications

• Completion of a surgical technology program.
• Typically requires 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 months may be required by department leadership.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain sterile fields for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies, retractors, and dressings.
• Set up operating room equipment and ensure room readiness for each case.
• Move and position equipment and patients as needed while maintaining safety.
• Coordinate with staff to address equipment and supply issues as they arise.
