Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health seeks a Surgical Technologist 2 to support the operating room team. You will prepare instruments, scrub in, assist the surgeon, and help maintain sterile technique under RN supervision.

Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited surgical technology program with CST certification, strong infection control knowledge, and a commitment to patient safety and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• Less than 1 year of experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification.
• CST certification (NBSTSA/NCCT) required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Scrub into surgery and prepare instruments before the surgeon scrubs in.
• Set up the operating room and maintain the instrument table.
• Ensure proper function and counts of surgical instruments.
• Assist with draping and positioning of the patient.
• Receive specimens and transfer to the proper container.
• Dispose of sharps, fluids and waste per policy.
• Follow infection control guidelines and maintain sterile technique.
