Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program.
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience preferred.
• Current Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required unless exempt under PA Act 80.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon during procedures and coordinates treatments with other disciplines.
• Provides basic patient assistance and connects patients to clinical equipment.
• Maintains aseptic technique, prepares for surgery, scrubs, gowns, gloving, draping and instrument setup.
• Participates in time-out and universal protocol briefings; verifies correct surgical site with team.
• Performs specimen handling, maintains instrument counts and disposes of sharps properly.
