Job summary

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is hiring a Surgical Technologist to support operating room procedures. The role requires active certification or eligibility under Act 80, with a Monday–Friday schedule and 10-hour days. A $7,500 signing bonus applies if eligible, with union representation and full-time hours.

In this position, you’ll assist surgeons, ensure aseptic techniques, coordinate treatments with teams, and help prepare rooms and specimens for procedures. Prior OR experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from Specialty Training Program (Required).
• Minimum of 1 year related work experience (Required).
• Active Surgical Technologist Certification or meets Act 80 grandfathering guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeon during procedures and coordinate treatments.
• Maintain aseptic technique; prepare instruments and supplies.
• Set up room, assist with specimens, and manage equipment.
• Participate in intra-operative phase and surgical timeout.
• Restock operating rooms and monitor inventory.
• Train new personnel in the primary area of responsibility.
