Job summary

Mount Carmel East, part of Mount Carmel Health System, is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the OR team under RN direction. You will prepare and maintain the sterile field and assist surgeons during operations, ensuring patient safety and adherence to sterile practices.

The role requires graduation from a surgical technology program with certification, BLS, and Ohio PN licensure if applicable. It offers a day-shift schedule, on-call rotation, and comprehensive benefits with relocation

Qualifications

• Graduate of a surgical technology program or equivalent.
• Certification as a surgical technologist (NBSTSA/NCCT).
• BLS healthcare provider certification required.
• If trained as a practical nurse, active Ohio PN license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meeting surgery department goals (room turnover, first-case starts).
• Assist in training/orientation of associates as directed.
• Maintain a safe environment for the patient.
• Maintain sterile techniques throughout procedures.

Education

Graduate of a surgical technology program

Surgical Technology Certification (NBSTSA/NCCT)

BLS certification

Ohio Practical Nurse license (if applicable)
