Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support perioperative care under RN supervision. You will prepare equipment and sterile fields, coordinate specimens, and assist with supplies and transport as needed.

Requirements include an accredited Surgical Technology program (or equivalent experience), NBSTSA/NCCT certification, BLS, and a high school diploma. Excellent benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with AHA or ARC.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Requirements

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
