Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to support Bardmoor Outpatient and Surgery in a PRN, non-exempt role.

The candidate will work under an RN, maintaining sterile technique and assisting with instrument setup, patient preparation, and specimen handling.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or military/hospital-based training with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Must hold Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical support in the perioperative period under RN direction.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, and the operating room to maintain a sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens as needed.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Status: PRN, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: Variable

On Call: No

Requirements:

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
