Job summary

BayCare Health System in Indiana is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our perioperative team. You will assist with sterile setup, instrument handling, and patient care under RN supervision to ensure the highest standard of surgical safety.

The role requires completing an accredited surgical technology program (or equivalent military/hospital training with 5 years acute care experience), NBSTSA/NCCT certification, BLS, and a high school diploma. Competitive benefits apply.

Responsibilities

• Assists with sterile setup and instrument handling during procedures.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens and supplies.
• Assists with inventory and ordering of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport as needed.

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.


• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.


• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.


• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.


• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details

Location: St Josephs South

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Weekend Work: None

On Call: Yes

Requirements

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.


• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT


• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross


• High School Diploma or Equivalent
