Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or equivalent training with experience is necessary.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) from approved organizations is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical support in the perioperative period under RN supervision.
• Prepare equipment, instruments, and supplies for surgeries.
• Assist with maintaining a sterile field during procedures.

Position Description

Surgical Technologist – Non-Certified

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
