Job summary

BayCare in Riverview, FL seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the Surgical Services team at St Josephs South. You will prepare the OR, sterile field, instruments, and supplies, under RN supervision, to support safe perioperative care.

The role is full-time with shift 6:30am–5:00pm, on-call required, and benefits including health coverage, 401(k), PTO and tuition reimbursement. Completion of an accredited program and NBSTSA/NCCT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or equivalent.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment, instruments, supplies and operating room to maintain sterile field.
• Coordinate preparation or disposal of specimens and specimens handling.
• Assist with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist with patient transport.

Title

Position Description: Certified Surgical Technologist

• The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
• Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
• Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
• Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
• May assist in patient transport.

Position Details:

Location: St Josephs South

Status: Full Time, Exempt: No

Shift Hours: 6:30am - 5:00pm

Weekend Work: None

On Call: Yes

Requirements:

• Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
• Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
