Job summary

Ascension in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a Surgical Instrument Tech to support the Surgery department. This day-shift, 1.0 position focuses on instrument preparation, sterile technique, and assisting with patient preparation and draping for procedures at St. Joseph Hospital.

Responsibilities include maintaining instrument counts and organization, ensuring safety and efficiency during operations, and supporting a collaborative care team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer date.
• High school diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience, or an Associate's/Technical degree, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to support sterile and non-sterile instrument handling in a fast-paced surgical setting.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
