Job summary

Ascension is seeking a Surgical Tech to join the team at St. Vincent Warrick Hospital in Boonville, IN. You will work daytime hours in Surgical Services, preparing sterile fields and passing instruments to surgeons to ensure safe, efficient procedures.

You must have a BLS certification within 30 days of hire and a surgical tech credential (NCCT or NBSTSA). Education options include HS equivalency with experience or an associate/technical degree, with potential for tuition assistance and ongoing

• Track and manage surgical instruments and counts throughout procedures.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Prepare high-standard surgical suites by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and supplies to ensure a seamless, safe environment for every procedure.
• Anticipate surgical team needs by expertly passing instruments and supplies to surgeons, keeping operations flowing efficiently and safely.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety by assisting with the careful preparation, transportation, positioning, and draping of patients prior to surgery.
• Protect patient outcomes through meticulous tracking and management of surgical instruments and counts throughout the entire operation.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• One or more of the following required:
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
