Job summary

Ascension in Franklin, WI seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team by preparing sterile surgical suites and ensuring instrument readiness for each procedure.

You will maintain sterile technique, count instruments, assist with patient positioning and draping, and collaborate closely with the scrub team to ensure safe, efficient surgeries.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date required.
• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare specialized surgical suites by organizing sterile instruments and supplies.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs and deliver precise instrumentation to keep the lead physician focused on the patient.
• Monitor instrument counts and maintain a sterile field to prevent complications and ensure outcomes.
• Assist with patient transitions, including positioning and draping, to ensure comfort and protect the surgical site.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to provide hemostasis and technical assistance throughout the procedure.

• Prepare specialized surgical suites by meticulously organizing sterile instruments and supplies to ensure a seamless, high-functioning environment for every procedure.
• Empower the surgical team by anticipating the surgeon's needs and delivering precise instrumentation, allowing the lead physician to remain focused on the patient.
• Advocate for patient safety by diligently monitoring instrument counts and maintaining a sterile field to prevent complications and ensure successful clinical outcomes.
• Support critical patient transitions, including positioning and draping, to guarantee comfort and maintain the integrity of the surgical site from start to finish.
• Collaborate directly with the surgical or scrub team to provide hemostasis and technical assistance, playing a vital role in the efficiency and safety of the operating room.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
