Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online surgical tech programs not accepted) OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
• BLS certification through American Heart Association.
• Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques; anatomy; instrumentation and technologies; good communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on surgery schedule and daily needs.
• Cares for and provides services to patients under supervision of staff nurse.
• Communicates information pertaining to patient care needs to patients, family members and co-workers.
• Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials.
• Adapts to rapid changes in the department caused by unit census and patient acuity.
• Performs other related duties as required.
