Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist to ensure availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures. The role involves scrubbing for surgeries, assisting for endoscopy, and supporting the RN with standard duties in a fast-paced surgical unit.

Required education includes graduation from an accredited Surgical Technologist program or 5 years of experience with BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online surgical tech programs not accepted) OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
• BLS through American Heart Association required.
• Preferred - Certification in surgical technology.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties and assists in endoscopy and surgical procedures.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on the surgery schedule and daily department needs.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, credentials, and adheres to safety and regulatory standards.
