Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to ensure the availability of equipment and supplies for endoscopy and surgical procedures. The role requires scrubbing for procedures and assisting during endoscopy with supervision by the RN.

Required is graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program, or 5 years of surgical tech experience, plus BLS certification. Preferred is certification in surgical technology.

Qualifications

• - Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online surgical tech programs not accepted) OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
• - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care duties.
• Organizes activities and supplies based on surgery schedule and daily needs of the department.
• Competently scrubs for surgical procedures and assists for endoscopy procedures.
• Maintains clinical knowledge, skills, and credentials.
