Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team at Aurora St. Lukes South Shore. You will support sterile technique, prepare instruments, and assist surgeons during procedures in a fast-paced environment.

No prior experience required; completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and BLS certification within 6 months are recommended. The role offers a 40-hour week, day shift, and competitive benefits including health coverage and educational

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in Surgical Technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to patient care and aseptic setup for procedures.
• Performs procedures and supports surgeons by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
• Maintains environmental disinfection, safety and efficiency of the operating room.
• Functions as a Second Assistant as necessary and notifies staff of equipment or supply issues.
• Transports patients and equipment; maintains readiness of specialty carts or items.
