Job summary

Advocate Health's Aurora Sinai Medical Center is seeking a full-time Surgical Technologist to join the Surgery team. You will prepare sterile fields, assist in gowning, draping, pass instruments, and help maintain patient safety and efficiency in the operating room.

Hours are 40 per week with flexible start times; $8,000-$12,000 sign-on bonus offered based on experience; BLS certification required within 6 months; completion of a Surgical Technology program is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of aseptic surgical techniques for prep of materials and equipment.
• Familiarity with operating room equipment and instrument handling.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provides for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care.
• Assists with gowning, gloving, draping and sterile setup; passes instruments.
• Maintains sterile field, anticipates Surgeons' needs and reports issues.
• Transports equipment and supplies and maintains equipment readiness.
• Supports patient positioning and transfer; observes age-specific needs.
