Job summary

Westchester Medical Center is seeking a Clerical Specialist to support the practice manager, clinical team, and physicians. You will schedule patient procedures, obtain pre-authorizations, and enter information into the surgical scheduling system, while delivering high-quality customer service.

The role requires at least two years in a medical office and customer service experience; Spanish-language ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a medical office.
• Minimum of two years of customer service support experience.
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work with the clinical team to schedule patient procedures.
• Obtain insurance authorizations for surgical procedures.
• Assist the patient in scheduling pre-procedure testing.
• Inform the patient of the surgical appointment and pre-procedural requirements.
• Handle incoming call volume promptly and professionally.
• Provide call confirmations to patients.
• Schedule appointments correctly and ensure data is entered into the EMR.
• File or scan records into electronic medical records.
• Maintain patient confidentiality.
• Float to other offices as required for coverage.
