Job summary

Owensboro Health Medical Group in Kentucky is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator for the Surgery Plastic & Reconstructive department. Qualifications

Coordinates the scheduling of surgeries and related procedures.
Communicates with physicians, staff, and patients to coordinate facility and staff availability and pre/post instructions.
Performs insurance verification and pre-authorizations as needed.
May manage patient demographics and document entry in an EMR system.
May correspond with referring providers and patients for reports, scheduling, x-rays, and paperwork.

Responsibilities

Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
Provides administrative support for Physicians or Nurse Practitioners.
Communicates with patients/families to provide pre-procedure instructions and confirm appointments.
May communicate with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
