Job summary

Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is seeking a dedicated scheduling coordinator for Outpatient Rehab. The role coordinates the scheduling of surgeries and related procedures, ensuring accurate times and resource availability.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments using computerized systems, communicating with physicians, staff, patients and families to provide pre-procedure instructions, and performing insurance verification and pre-authorizations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• No licensure/certification/registration required.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and related procedures.
• Schedules appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Communicates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities and staff.
• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide pre-procedure instructions and/or confirm appointments.
• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
• Manages referral work queue, enters patient demographics, and scans documents into EMR.
• Corresponds with referring providers and/or patients for reports, information exchange, scheduling, x-rays, and paperwork.
• Provides administrative support for Physicians or Nurse Practitioners.
