Job summary

UofL Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Medical Scheduler to assist staff and physicians by coordinating patient follow-ups and ordered tests. The scheduler will interact directly with patients of all ages and use Allscripts and Centricity Business to manage appointments and pre-authorizations.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of scheduling experience in a multi-specialty clinic is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/Equivalent is required.
• Two (2) years scheduling experience in a multi-specialty clinic is preferred.
• Experience with scheduling follow-up visits and tests.
• Proficient with HIPAA privacy and security practices.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow up/return visits for patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Schedule medical tests and procedures for patients.
• Explain procedure instructions to patients.
• Call patients to schedule procedures and provide instructions.
• Use Allscripts and Centricity Business for scheduling and data retrieval.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality in all patient matters.
• Exhibit friendly and helpful behavior.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
