Job summary

Riverview Health in Noblesville, IN is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator for the surgical services team. You will manage scheduling of procedures with physicians, anesthesiologists, and nursing units, ensuring capacity is respected and information is accurate.

This role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders. Prior surgical scheduling or clinical experience is preferred, with BLS certification often required.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred: Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Minimum: Two (2) years of clinical surgical tech experience.
• Preferred: combination of administrative and clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain professional relationships with physicians, their office staff, co-workers and hospital personnel.
• Schedule surgical procedures with the anesthesiologist, physician, their office or through nursing units according to capacity.
• Facilitate briefs, huddles and debriefs when necessary.
• Actively scan situational elements to gain information and maintain awareness for team functioning.
• Identify and obtain necessary information about the patient for scheduling purposes.
• Enter and review operating room charges into the electronic system.
• Monitor physician preference cards for noted changes and submit to the coordinator.
• Identify additional resources needed for procedures and communicate this information to the team.
• Precept additional staff members in the scheduling office when necessary.
• Verifies information communicated and seeks information from all available resources.
• Other duties as assigned.
