Job summary

UCHealth Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO is seeking a Surgical Scheduling Coordinator for a full-time, on-site role with day shifts. You will coordinate all aspects of surgery scheduling for inpatient and outpatient procedures.

Responsibilities include using computerized scheduling programs, coordinating with physicians and the care team, guiding patients with pre-procedure instructions, and handling pre-authorizations as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
