Job summary

UCHealth University of Colorado Health seeks a Scheduling Coordinator at the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion in Aurora, CO. The role coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling, working with physicians and the perioperative team to ensure facilities, staff and equipment readiness for scheduled procedures.

This onsite position requires a High School diploma or GED, CPR/IBLS certifications, and the ability to manage pre-procedure instructions, insurance verifications and appointment coordination in

Summary

Coordinates all aspects of surgery scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Schedules inpatient and outpatient surgical appointment times using computerized scheduling programs.
• Coordinates with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure availability of facilities, surgeon, staff and equipment.
• Communicates with patients and/or their families to provide necessary pre-procedure instructions and to confirm appointments.
• Performs insurance verification and/or pre-authorizations as necessary.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Licensure/Certification: Relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
• Minimum Experience: None required.
• IBLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
