Job summary

Intermountain Health in Utah Valley Clinic is seeking a skilled PSR to manage and coordinate surgery and hospital procedure schedules, from pre-op to post-op follow-up. Responsibilities include obtaining prior authorizations, coordinating referrals, and ensuring correct CPT/ICD codes.

You will collaborate with providers, hospital staff, and EMR systems to keep schedules accurate and patient safety a priority.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.
• Associate's Degree preferred; education verified.

Responsibilities

• Creates and manages provider's surgery/hospital procedure schedules.
• Obtains authorization for surgeries/hospital procedures by researching coverage and obtain prior auth.
• Coordinates referral for patients that will go out of network.
• Proposes iCentra requirements to create a pre-surgical FIN# and scheduling card.
• Coordinate with providers to ensure necessary surgical equipment is requested.
• Meets with surgery/procedure patients to explain the process and pre-op requirements.
• Scan and document processes in patient charts and relay cost estimations; investigate billing disputes.
