Job summary

Intermountain Health in Utah Valley Clinic is seeking a skilled Surgery Scheduler to manage provider surgery and hospital procedure calendars, coordinate pre-op steps and authorizations, and ensure accurate CPT coding for approvals.

You will work with providers and hospital staff to confirm schedules, obtain prior authorizations, and support patient flow from referral through post-op follow-up. This role is on-site in Provo with typical daytime hours.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, collection, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.

Responsibilities

• Creates and manages provider's surgery/hospital procedure schedules.
• Obtains authorization for surgeries/hospital procedures by researching coverage and obtaining prior auth.
• Coordinate with the provider to ensures all necessary surgical/procedure equipment is requested.
• Meets with surgery/procedure patients to explain the process and prerequisites.
• Scan and document process in patient charts and relay cost estimations.
