Job summary

Intermountain Health in Las Vegas is seeking a Scheduler/Pre-Op Coordinator responsible for creating and managing provider surgery and hospital procedure schedules, handling changes and rescheduling, and ensuring all necessary orders are prepared for hospital execution.

You will obtain authorizations, verify coverage, coordinate referrals, review CPT codes, assist with pre-op tasks, document in EMR, and liaise with nursing staff and surgery teams to support safe, efficient patient care.

Qualifications

• Two years of medical registration, billing, scheduling, or insurance experience.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and calendaring programs.
• Bi-lingual - Spanish speaking (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Create and manage provider surgery/hospital procedure schedules.
• Obtain prior authorization for surgeries and verify coverage.
• Coordinate referrals for patients that will go out of network.
• Meet with pre-op patients to explain the surgery process and prerequisites.
• Document processes in patient charts and relay cost estimations.
• Coordinate with nursing staff and hospital items for cases.
• Prepare surgical scheduling cards and ensure required equipment is available.
