Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Patient Financial Access Specialist - Clinical Scheduling to coordinate appointment, procedure and surgery scheduling across departments. The role requires liaising with referring physicians, patients, and clinical staff to sequence complex procedures and ensure pre- and post-operative instructions are communicated accurately.

You will use Epic and related systems to schedule, track, and adjust bookings, ensure insurance demographics and requirements are met, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
• Two to three years in customer service in hospital/physician office with high call volumes.
• Experience maintaining and scheduling physician and testing services while ensuring patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Patient throughputs: obtaining required information and ensuring third party payer reimbursement.
• Surgery scheduling: coordinate and support scheduling tasks and gather booking sheets.
• Utilizes Epic, OR at a Glance, and One Line Eligibility to schedule patients and manage changes.
• Independently optimizes time related to patient appointment scheduling.
• Provides service excellence per Standards of Professional Behavior.
