Northwell is seeking a Clerical Scheduling Assistant to support operating room case scheduling. Responsibilities include handling physician requests, reviewing OR calendars, and communicating updates to teams. Strong data entry skills and the ability to learn medical terminology are required.

The role involves coordinating with Anesthesiology, Admitting, and surgical teams to ensure accurate, timely bookings and optimal OR utilization.

Competenze

• Clerical data entry experience
• Ability to type at least 80 keystrokes per minute
• Capacity to learn medical terminology and perform basic calculations

Mansioni

• Handle telephone requests from physicians and staff to schedule surgeries.
• Review OR schedule and coordinate time slots based on guidelines (procedure length, staffing, anesthesia).
• Communicate changes to physicians and departments; confirm bookings and reschedule as needed.
• Maximize OR utilization by sharing available time with surgeons.
• Prepare next-day surgical case lists and forward to Admitting Office; post room numbers on the schedule.
