Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Surgical Coordinator/Scheduler in Delray Beach to manage comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative scheduling for the assigned physician. You will coordinate surgery dates with patients and facilities, obtain referrals, and secure prior authorizations from payers as needed.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of surgical scheduling experience, a healthcare background, and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as NextGen or Athena, plus strong Word/Outlook skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Requires 1-3 years of experience in Medical Setting, preferably in Physician Practice.
• Requires at least 2 years of surgical scheduling experience.
• Healthcare background is strongly desirable.
• EMR/EHR experience preferred; NextGen or Athena experience preferred.
• Proficiency in a Windows environment with Word, Outlook, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete pre-operative and post-operative scheduling for the assigned physician.

The Surgical Coordinator/Scheduler is primarily responsible for providing complete patient pre-operative and post-operative surgical scheduling functions for the assigned physician. Coordinates scheduling of the surgical sites and appointments for all physicians while facilitating surgical dates with patients. Assure surgeon preferences with the available resources. Obtains necessary authorizations and referrals from primary care physicians, specialists, and insurance companies. Medical office coordinator and additional duties may be assigned.

• Obtains necessary authorizations and referrals from primary care physicians, specialists, and insurance companies
