Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to support physicians and staff by coordinating patient follow-up visits, tests, and procedures. You will contact patients to schedule appointments, ensure pre-certifications are in place, and communicate clearly about next steps, while maintaining patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities include using electronic health records systems, coordinating with various departments, and delivering courteous, accurate service across age groups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years scheduling in a multi-specialty clinic preferred.
• HIPAA privacy and security awareness.
• Ability to schedule follow-up visits and tests accurately.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow up/return visits for patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Schedule medical tests and procedures and relay instructions to patients.
• Call patients to schedule procedures and provide pre-procedure instructions.
• Use Allscripts, Centricity Business, and paging systems to retrieve information.
