Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to assist staff and physicians by scheduling patients for follow-up appointments and necessary tests. The role involves direct patient interaction with patients of all ages, and coordination with clinical teams to ensure timely care.

The Scheduler will use Epic and Centricity Business to retrieve information and schedule procedures, with adherence to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Qualifications

• Schedules follow up/return visits to our office for patients.
• Obtains appropriate pre-certification and pre-authorizations, as needed.
• Schedules medical tests and procedures for patients.
• Discusses patient instructions for procedures with patient so patient has clear understanding of what is expected.
• Calls patients to schedule procedures and give instructions over phone with follow-up letter with instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct.
• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
