Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Medical Scheduler to support physicians by scheduling follow-up visits and necessary tests. You will interact with patients of all ages and coordinate care within the health system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/Equivalent required.
• Two years scheduling in a multi-specialty clinic preferred.
• Experience interacting with patients of all ages is a plus.
• Familiarity with HIPAA privacy and security requirements a must.

Responsibilities

• Schedule follow-up/return visits for patients.
• Obtain pre-certifications and pre-authorizations as needed.
• Schedule medical tests and procedures (e.g., interventional cardiology, electrophysiology).
• Explain procedures and instructions to patients clearly by phone or in person.
• Call patients to schedule procedures and provide follow-up instructions by letter or email.
