Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Coordinator to manage surgery scheduling, pre‑authorizations, and billing for procedures. You will handle patient demographics, quotes for cosmetic procedures, and ensure timely pre‑admission testing in line with office protocol.

The role requires scheduling coordination with multiple doctors, strong computer skills (Word, Outlook, Excel), and the ability to read and communicate in English. Strong organizational and interpersonal abilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess working knowledge of physician practice operations and understanding of basic scheduling system management.
• Must possess willingness to go above and beyond with every patient.
• Must possess ability to handle details and be well organized.
• One year Surgical Coordinating Experience

Responsibilities

• Scheduling surgery and pre‑authorization for procedures.
• Postings and entry of patient demographics and charges.
• Coordinate surgery schedules with doctors and offices.
• Answering phones and triaging patient calls by severity/importance.
• Verify benefits and obtain pre-certifications.
