You will coordinate surgical site appointments and facilitate dates with patients, ensuring authorizations and referrals are obtained from PCPs, specialists, and insurers.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient-centered communication, and a proactive approach in a medical office environment with EMR/EHR systems and Microsoft tools.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in a medical setting, preferably in physician practice.
• At least 2 years of surgical scheduling experience.
• Healthcare background is strongly desirable.
• Proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Internet.

Responsibilities

• Provide complete pre-operative and post-operative scheduling for the assigned physician.
• Coordinate scheduling of sites and appointments for all physicians; facilitate surgical dates with patients.
• Obtain authorizations and referrals from primary care physicians, specialists, and insurance companies.
• Ensure surgeon preferences align with available resources; obtain necessary authorizations and referrals.
• Maintain friendly, courteous interaction with patients, the public, physicians and staff.
