Qualifications

• Good communication skills with patients and families.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and basic knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Obtains all necessary information for patient office visits and completes required paperwork.
• Sends out medical record release forms and pre-visit paperwork and educational materials.
• Coordinates daily schedules for providers according to established protocols.
• Organizes, files and scans medical information.
• Works with insurance companies to obtain proper certification for appointments and surgery; documents conversations and assists with issues.
• Keeps patients informed and educated; sends letters and educational materials as appropriate.
• Tracks patients through pre-determination process and schedules or reschedules appointments.
• Tracks no-shows and cancelled appointments.
• Collaborates with other departments to complete pre-admission and surgical booking process; provides documentation and billing information.
• Has knowledge of anatomy/physiology and basic surgical terminology.
